Brief Biography

California has been my adopted home since 1972 and is just as beloved as my native Hawaii. Living here has given me the opportunity to explore careers in marketing, advertising and public relations through occupations, which allow strategic creative thinking.

My writing experiences include positions as a Newspaper Reporter, Photojournalist on the Apollo 15 and 16 Primary Recovery Forces, and Corporate Public Relations Writer.

Prior to moving to the valley in 1979, I ran an in-house ad agency for an East Bay manufacturing firm and produced television, radio, magazine, newspaper, outdoor/billboard and direct mail advertising for their network of over 2,000 retailers in the U.S. and Canada.

In the advertising field, I was a Senior Account Executive/Copywriter of a San Francisco Bay Area-based ad agency, Marketing & Promotions Director of a community newspaper, Vice President (Client Services) of a regional ad firm, and Creative Director/Copywriter for 2 San Joaquin Valley ad agencies.

From 1984 through 1998, I was Principal and Creative Director of Advertising Communications (Ad Com) of Modesto. During that period, Ad Com won numerous local, regional and national awards for consumer and business advertising.

My wife, Patti and I are the parents of 2 grown children: Michael and Megan.
